I understand the error code OXB88A3F38 on your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3835 All-in-One Printer typically indicates a firmware or hardware-related issue.
Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the problem:
1. Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
- Turn the printer back on and check if the error is resolved.
2. Check for Paper Jams
- Open all accessible compartments (input tray, output tray, ink cartridge area).
- Carefully inspect for any paper jams or obstructions.
- Remove any jammed paper or debris.
3. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for firmware updates via the HP Smart app or the HP website:
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your printer model and select the correct operating system.
- Download and install any available firmware updates.
4. Reset the Printer
- A full reset might resolve the issue:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
- Turn on the printer and see if the error is cleared.
5. Reinstall the Printer
- If the issue persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer:
- Uninstall the printer software from your computer.
- Reinstall the printer by downloading the latest drivers and software from the HP website.
