Hi @MKP7,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the error code OXB88A3F38 on your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3835 All-in-One Printer typically indicates a firmware or hardware-related issue.

Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the problem:

1. Restart the Printer

  • Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the error is resolved.

2. Check for Paper Jams

  • Open all accessible compartments (input tray, output tray, ink cartridge area).
  • Carefully inspect for any paper jams or obstructions.
  • Remove any jammed paper or debris.

3. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for firmware updates via the HP Smart app or the HP website:
    • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
    • Enter your printer model and select the correct operating system.
    • Download and install any available firmware updates.

4. Reset the Printer

  • A full reset might resolve the issue:
    • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
    • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    • Wait for 60 seconds.
    • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
    • Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
    • Turn on the printer and see if the error is cleared.

5. Reinstall the Printer

  • If the issue persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer:
    • Uninstall the printer software from your computer.
    • Reinstall the printer by downloading the latest drivers and software from the HP website.
