Hi @amahmoud
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It’s understandably frustrating when a reliable printer suddenly halts mid-task and drops its connection.
You’ve already done the right thing by observing the freeze during alignment—now let’s gently guide it back to full operation.
Step-by-Step Recovery for Freeze During Alignment and Wi-Fi Disconnect
1. Perform a Full Power Reset
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.
- This clears any residual state that may have caused the freeze.
2. Cancel the Alignment Loop
- If the printer resumes alignment automatically and freezes again:
- Remove all paper from the input tray.
- Let the printer attempt alignment and fail.
- Once it displays an error, cancel the alignment from the touchscreen.
- Reinsert paper and restart the printer.
3. Reconnect to Wi-Fi
- On the printer’s touchscreen:
- Tap Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings > Restore Network Settings
- Then tap Wireless Setup Wizard and reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
- Ensure the router is broadcasting on 2.4 GHz, which is more stable for printers.
4. Update Firmware
- Visit: HP OfficeJet Pro 9019 Troubleshooting and Drivers
- Download and install the latest firmware for your printer model.
- Firmware updates often resolve freezing and connectivity issues.
5. Run Diagnose & Fix Tool
- On your Windows PC, open the HP App.
- Select your printer > Tools > Diagnose & Fix.
- This tool checks for setup errors, alignment faults, and network problems.
6. Print a Test Page
- After reconnecting and updating, print a test page from the control panel:
- Tap Setup > Reports > Print Quality Report
- Confirm that the printer responds without freezing.
If the alignment continues to freeze after these steps, it may help to remove and reinstall the ink cartridges, then restart the printer. Let me know what you observe—I’ll guide you further if needed.
You’re doing everything right by staying attentive and proactive. With a few resets and updates, your printer should return to smooth, responsive performance.
