Hi @daniel451

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It looks like your HP LaserJet MFP M234sdwe is experiencing a control panel issue, with the power button blinking and an RD error appearing. This typically indicates a firmware or hardware issue. Here’s how to troubleshoot

Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the printer using the power button.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  3. Wait for 60 seconds to discharge residual power.
  4. Reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  5. Turn the printer back on and check if the issue persists.

Step 2: Check Power Supply & Connections

  • Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the printer and the outlet.
  • Try plugging the printer into a different outlet to rule out power issues.
  • Inspect the power cord for visible damage—if damaged, consider replacing it.

Step 3: Update Printer Firmware

  • HP regularly releases new firmware updates to enhance printer performance, update applications, and fix known issues.
  • Updating firmware is important to ensure compatibility and prevent errors like your current issue.
  • Follow the instructions in this official HP guide for updating firmware:
    👉 HP Firmware Update Guide

Step 4: Perform a Factory Reset

If the control panel remains unresponsive:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

Let me know if any of these steps help!
