Thiis pritner is brand new. The day I set it up I followed the instructions exactly and had no issues. I had no issues until I did not use it overnight or a few days. I cannot get the touch screen to turn the machine on or make it active again. It seems to be in sleep and I followed some advice given in another subject and there is nothing wrong with the router or internet connection. THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH MY PRINTER AND I won't UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL ANYTHING IF I DO NOT GET SOMETHING I HAVENT TRIED YET. The screen is on all black and the blue light for the home and on the button is blinking or rather light. But I cannot get anything to get it out of that mode. My computer also stops being able to read to it or put anything in the queue. But it literally printed 10 plus jobs yesterday
this machine is brand new and I threw away my busted old brother that never had a problem and i cannot afford a new printer and think that unplugging it and plugging it back in is not the solution I want to be using I paid too much money to not be able to use a machine properly but no enough money to be working with a machine that isn't turn key. This is not a laserjet, doesn't collate pages or staple, it is meant to print simple jobs and I have spent 10+ hours this week on this.
I really need help because otherwise, I am going to return the thing and sell the ink for mitigation of my losses. I bought so much ink I am so mad. I have never had a problem with any other brand and took a gamble going to HP given the things people said about the office jets and the issues they always have. I read goo reviews on Best Buy though so I thought they might be right. Please tell me I can solve this without more time and effort than it should take. Like 30 minutes tops. I won't spend more than that without literally coming unglued after all that I have tried. There has to be a super simple thing I am overlooking. I did all the technical **bleep** every it types posted to try.

@cveed Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity
Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
-
Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
-
Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.
-
If your printer in not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.
-
If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.
-
-
If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.
-
If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.
-
Try to print.
Assign manual IP address and that should fix the issue.
- On the printer control panel, press the Wireless button . ...
- Press the button next to Settings, scroll to Print Report, and then press OK.
- Scroll to Configuration Page, and then press OK.
Setting a Static IP Address
Once you know your printer’s IP address, entering it is pretty easy. Here’s what you do:
- Run your Web browser.
- In the Web browser’s address bar, type the IP address of your printer and press Enter. Assuming you entered the right address, the HP printer control panel should appear.
- Click the Networking tab.
- Under Connections, click Wireless.
- Under IP Address Configuration, click Manual IP.
- Enter the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway in the appropriate boxes.
- Click Apply.
