Hi @Aratsai
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your printer is indicating a paper jam but there isn't any paper obstructing the path, here are some troubleshooting steps you can take:
1. Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes clear error messages.
2. Check All Paper Paths:
- Open all compartments and access doors (including the rear access door if applicable) to ensure there are no small pieces of paper or debris stuck anywhere in the printer.
3. Inspect the Rollers:
- Check the paper rollers for any paper bits or wear. If they’re dirty, clean them with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water.
4. Check for Misaligned Sensors:
- Sometimes, sensors that detect paper can become misaligned or dirty. Carefully clean around the sensors (usually small plastic or metal parts) with a soft cloth.
5. Reset the Printer:
- Some printers have a reset option in the menu. Check your printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
6. Update Printer Firmware:
- If possible, check for any firmware updates for your printer that may address known issues. This can usually be done through the manufacturer’s website or printer software.
7. Run a Self-Test:
- If your printer has a self-test feature, run it to see if the issue persists. This can sometimes reset the printer's error state.
8. Remove and Reinsert Paper:
- Take out the paper from the tray, ensure it's not wrinkled or jammed, and reload it. Sometimes, incorrect paper loading can trigger a jam alert.
9. Consult the Manual:
- Refer to your printer’s user manual for any specific instructions regarding paper jams and troubleshooting lights.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
