HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 All-in-One Printer

this is the pattern I found, every time it prints a circle (but not o strangely) it prints a thick line from top to bottom starting from the left edge of the circle, the only time it deviates from the pattern is in picture 2 on the bottom right the lines seem to go beneath the rectangle. The printer never gets stuck or stutters while printing, there is no error message either. I tried cleaning the printer tip in settings, but it didn't help. After much searching, I have never seen something similar to the pictures attachedunnamed (1).jpgunnamed.jpg.

Hi @Zach98,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Update the firmware. Click here

Most of the print quality issues can be resolved by power resetting the printer and then performing an automated/manual cleaning. Here is how to do it:

Please ensure the printer is up-to-date with its firmware. If you are unsure, you can use the steps available here to update the printer firmware.

  •  Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector
  •  Remove all of your ink cartridges from the printer and close the door
  •  Remove the power cord from the back of the printer (Do no press the power button)
  • Plug the power cord back into the printer
  •  Wait for the printer to turn on completely, then install the ink cartridges.
  •  On the printer control panel, touch the Setupicon.
  • :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: Swipe up on the display, touch Tools, and then touch Clean Page Smears.
  •  Touch Clean Page Smears or Clean Smear.
  •  On the control panel, touch the Setupicon.
  •  Swipe up on the display, touch Tools, and then touch Clean Cartridges. Touch Yes when prompted to perform the next level of cleaning.
  •  On the printer control panel, touch the Setupicon.
  •  Swipe up on the display, touch Tools, and then touch Align Cartridges. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the alignment.

"Tools", "clean cartridges" and "align cartridges" does not exist in settings and the printer told me that I powered down incorrectly by unplugging it like that. it also didn't fix the issue as I am sure it is some sort of software problem not hardware
