Hi @Stevef11871, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The E0 error on your HP Envy 6065e indicating an "unusable cartridge" can be caused by several factors. Here’s how to troubleshoot it:

Reinsert the Cartridges

  • With the printer on, open the cartridge door and remove both cartridges.
  • Check for any protective tape on the copper contacts of the cartridges (remove if present).
  • Gently wipe the contacts with a dry, lint-free cloth.
  • Reinsert the cartridges firmly until they click into place.
  • Close the door and see if the error persists.

Restart the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check if the error goes away.

Check for Firmware Updates

If the printer firmware is outdated, it may reject compatible cartridges:

  • On your printer screen: Go to Setup > Printer Update > Check for Updates.
  • Or update via HP Smart App (download from the HP website if not installed).

Reset the Printer

If the issue persists, reset the printer to factory defaults:

  • Open the Setup menu.
  • Go to Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.
  • Restart the printer and check if it accepts the cartridges.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
