Example: HP Office Jet 6600
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I was printing a document and my printer finished the first page and the sounded as if it was cleaning the print heads. It then stopped and brought up a message saying printer failure, there is a problem with the printer or ink ststem, contact HP. I tried turning the power off and unpluging the printer then plugging back in a and turning back on but it didn't help. I tried taking out the ink cartridges and blowing into the little holes and reinserting but it didn't help.

Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Support Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, there seems to be an issue with the "Printer Failure".

Appreciate you trying the steps. Don't worry, I'm here to help!

Let's try these steps -

Step 1 Hard Reset -
1) Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent.
3) With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 60 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
5) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

Step 2 Firmware Update -
Refer to this document for steps to perform a firmware update - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

If the issue still persists, I've sent you a private message with the steps to perform an advanced reset. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it. Click here for more details on how to access the private messages on HP Forums.

Hope this helps!
