HP ENVY Photo 7800 All in one printer Series. My printer works when I print HP status reports from HP Smart App. It also works on the laptop upstairs so i know the wireless connection is working. I get "Error - printing" with every print option on my desktop - Internet, Microsoft, etc. I have rebooted, removed all hp related items and reinstalled. I used the doctor tool and HP smart app tool. It simply stopped working with no explanations other than "Error -printing" in my print que. The Smart App indicates the printer is ready and connected with no issues. Help!

Hi @JMG6893,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
Excellent description and a great diagnosis. It is greatly appreciated.
Check what type of interface port the print driver is using. Windows likes to default to using a WSD port, however these are unreliable. If it is using a WSD port, change the port type to Standard TCP/IP and configure the port to the IP address of the printer.
If that does not help, We need to perform a semi-full reset to restore the printer back to its original settings.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
