I lost the password to my Laserjet Pro MFP M477fdw printer -- the EWS password. I set up the printer over a year ago. I just did a required update on my router firmware, and now the printer shows "Offline" on my computer all of the time (although I can print to it from my iPhone). I use HP Print and Scan Doctor and it gives prompt to log into my printer. I cannot find out how to reset the password, even after connecting to the WiFi Direct connection. How can I reset EWS password?

Hi All,
I've just recently finished setting up a new HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw that I bought and when I chose a password for the first time for the admin user in the EWS, it is not accepting the password that I selected when trying to login, and I've tried all different combinations possible.
There is no way that this is a matter of not entering the password correctly, as it was copy and pasted from a password database directly, so for some reason the EWS admin password didn't accept the password I had chosen, and didn't notify me that there were any issues with it.. but has decided to lock me out of everything anyway until I enter a correct EWS admin password.
The only way I can see that I'm going to recover from this is to be able to reset or reconfigure a new EWS admin password.
From the looks of this post below it seems like there is a fix, so if someone could possibly let me know how I can accomplish this with the model of printer I have, I would be extremely grateful
Thank you.
