Hi @LC712,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Error code 5 on an HP DeskJet 2755 typically indicates a paper jam or paper feed issue. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

  • Check for Paper Jams: Open the printer's access door and check for any jammed paper inside. Carefully remove any paper you find. Make sure to follow the printer's user manual for guidance on how to access and clear paper jams.
  • Clear the Paper Path: Look inside the printer and ensure there are no small pieces of torn paper or debris obstructing the paper path.
  • Reload Paper: Ensure that the paper in the input tray is aligned properly. Make sure it's not too thick or too thin, and that it's within the supported size and type for your printer.
  • Reset the Printer: Sometimes, resetting the printer can clear errors. To do this, turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check for Sensor Issues: If the problem persists, it could be related to a sensor issue within the printer. You may need to contact HP customer support for further assistance or consider having the printer serviced.
  • Update Firmware/Drivers: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware and drivers installed. Sometimes, updating these can resolve issues.
  • Inspect for Foreign Objects: Occasionally, foreign objects like paper clips or staples can fall into the printer and cause issues. Carefully inspect the printer's interior for any foreign objects and remove them.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
