Purchased today, installed this evening.
Can't get past the cartridge failure screen. HP Smart identifies the full black cartridge as empty.
I have removed both cartridges, re-installed, several times.
I have removed cartridges and cleaned with lint free damp cloth per trouble shoot.
Checked to make sure drivers etc. are up to date
left on, unplugged, waited 60 seconds, plugged back in.
All the same error message. It said if it continued, to replace.
I had purchased a back up of ink and so I replaced the black ink. Received an error message that told me to use the ink that came with the printer!!!
I am SO frustrated. I need to print out documents for my custody court case tomorrow and it's 9 am. I purchased the printer just for this. Any tips?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.
Performing an OOBE reset to bypass the setup ink cartridges may help to use the regular trade ink cartridges that you have as a backup.
- The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
- I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a reset and re-initialize the printer.
- In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage
