HP Envy 5546
Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite

Purchased this HP Envy 5546 yesterday 12-11-16.  Spent 3 hrs trying to set up - well trying to get it to print on the small photo cards that came with it.  I have an iMac and photos are in iPhoto.  In iPhoto on the photo I click Print - I then change the drop down box from "iPhoto" to "Media & Quality" which then gives me the option to "Feed From" the "Photo Tray".  Still it prints on A4.  Trouble is you can't see the what paper it is printing on till it pops out - so I have pages and pages to throw away.  I have tried taking the paper out of the A4 tray so that it can only print on the photo paper but then it rattles around and says load paper.

The only way I have found to print on photo paper is to copy the photo to the desktop and open it in Preview.  The window is pretty much the same except there's a box to select paper size from A4 to 4x6.    I end up then with loads of duplicate photos to delete.

I see lots of people have this issue but the answers mention an OPTIONS - which I don't seem to have on the iMac.  Anyone got a solution please?  Thank you.

5 mins later - in writing this it has made me think again about the paper size.  I see there is an option to change the paper size in the iPhoto window before you go to the Print button and various drop down boxes.  I have changed this to 4x6 and now it works.

Hey there! @Envy5546girl, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand that your printer is printing incorrect paper size.

Try few steps recommended below.

In the program, you want to print from, click File, and then click Print.
Select your printer from the Printer drop-down list.
Click Page Setup, and then click Paper Size.
Select the paper size that matches the size and type of paper loaded in the printer tray, and then click OK. If there are no matching paper sizes, select the size from the list that is closest to the size of the paper loaded in the tray.
Try to print.
