OfficeJet 9012e
Microsoft Windows 11

I just purchased this new to me refurbished OfficeJet 9012e printer that I am trying to setup for the first time. I have not encountered with  the blue screen with blinking lights before. There is an error message of B8041D08.

The HPSmart software, which worked with with the now-non-functioning HP Officejet Pro 9015e, is of no value here.

I have seen similar messages about a BSOD and error codes but don't have any sense of how to proceed here.

Thank you.

Hi @TM325,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The blue screen with error code B8041D08 on your HP OfficeJet 9012e printer typically indicates a hardware issue or a failure during the printer's initialization process. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and turn on the printer.

Reset the Printer:

  • Sometimes a reset can clear temporary errors. To reset your printer, follow these steps:
    • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
    • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    • Wait at least 60 seconds.
    • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
    • Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
    • Turn on the printer if it does not automatically turn on.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Firmware updates can fix bugs and improve performance. You can check for updates using the HP Smart app or by visiting HP's support website.

Inspect for Obstructions:

  • Open the printer cover and check for any jammed paper, foreign objects, or obstructions in the printer mechanism that could be causing the error.

These steps should help you diagnose and potentially resolve the blue screen error with the B8041D08 code on your HP OfficeJet 9012e printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

The 'Reset the Printer' guidance seems to have solved the problem. Thank you very much!
