LaserJet Pro M501
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a LaserJet Pro M501, recently got an error message on the Control Panel. Message:  No paper pickup. Press [OK] to continue.

I pressed the [OK] button many times but the message does not go away. I check the pickup rollers and they seemed to be clear. Paper tray is full.

Printer is just over a year old so I'm assuming that the user did something that knocked one of the sensors out of place. First time I have seen this and HP Support was not much help.

Thank you for your time and help.

Thanks for your help on this. I started to pull it apart and I found a post-it-note stuck in it. I will try clear this out and see if everything is okay.

Does the pickup roller actually rotate? Can you hear it try to pickup the paper. Turn the printer around and look from the back into the tray, you will have to lift the cover and confirm that the paper actually lifts properly and the the roller is turning.  It could be a broken feed shaft or a damaged pickup roller.

Repairatrooper, Thanks for your response. I cannot even print any reports from the printer. The error message is on the printer.

when i push the tray in I hear the motor lift the paper.
