I had to replace the formatter board on this it would not boot up. Then the customer told me it would not duplex anymore. I got into the paper path test and there is no duplex option there anymore. This is A K0Q15A. I have the proper SE# in it but when I remoted in from the Web page. I happen to see the MODEL# K0Q14A. I'm thinking this is Y it will. not duplex. I have not found a way to enter the correct Model on this .

I am not sure on the newer models, but in the past when this type of duplex failure on formatter replacement occurred it was necessary to contact HP technical support and they could create a special tattoo file that would correct the issue. This is odd, did you replace with a new formatter or was this a refurbished or used formatter? In more and more cases you can no longer just swap parts between devices as you can lose features. The next generation devices will be rendered inoperable if you swap parts between devices.

too much information, not enough details.
First, all new formatters come blank, meaning they have no personality on them, they get that assignment from the DC controller when you install the formatter. The same is true for the DC controller, it gets the assignment from the formatter when you replace it, that is the reason you cannot under any circumstances replace the formatter and DC controller at the same time. The ID information had to come from somewhere and the most likely issue is someone repackaged a formatter or a DC controller and tried to pass it off as new. I have had this issue, even when purchasing "new" parts directly from HP.
So the questions are:
1. did you replace the formatter and dc controller at the same time
2. did you buy the parts directly from HP or from a 3rd party, either way but more common with 3rd party is that they purchase whole units, strip them down and sell the parts as new when they are not.
At this point you are going to have to engage HP technical support to find out if they can provide a reprogramming file for the device.
