Hello , my printer will not see any paper in the drawer unless I tip it onto it’s left hand edge  at 45 degrees when the error message shows , open the paper draw and shut it, then let it finish detecting the paper whilst still at an angle .I can put it back flat on the table and it will print . If i turn it off and back on again it won’t see the paper . I have also noticed that there Is a noise that sounds like a wheel rotating that always occurs before the error message shows, but when it goes  through the same start up routine and no error message appears( when it’s on is side at 45degrees) it does not make that noise . I have paid for a support call before I discovered this ‘fix’ and performed a nand reset.  My impression is that when the printer starts up it senses the paper in the drawer, and the wheel turning noise is it Trying to do that . When it’s at an angle that noise does not occur and it completes the startup routine much faster . So it would seem to be a sensor of some kind that is affected by the angle . I did suspect the paper lift motor was weak but now that I can get it to print that must be working ok

help please ! Thanks

Hello, thanks for your reply.  I have tried many software fixes to no avail.  I am fairly sure it’s a hardware issue as tilting the printer onto its side makes the error disappear .  Any suggestions please I am happy to take it apart    Thanks
