Hi @Ogieone,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP OfficeJet J4580 All-in-One printer keeps saying "Out of Paper" even though there's paper loaded, try these steps to troubleshoot:
Check Paper Tray:
- Ensure the paper is properly loaded in the tray and is aligned correctly.
- Verify that the paper guides are snug against the paper but not too tight.
Clear Paper Jams:
- Open the printer's front and back covers to check for any paper jams.
- Carefully remove any jammed paper, following the printer’s manual for guidance.
Check Paper Type and Size:
- Make sure you’re using the correct paper type and size for your printer.
- Ensure the paper size setting in the printer’s properties matches the paper loaded.
Reload Paper:
- Remove the paper from the tray and reload it.
- Sometimes, reloading the paper can help the printer recognize it properly.
Reset Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for about 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on to see if the issue is resolved.
Printer Settings:
- Go to your computer’s printer settings and ensure there are no incorrect settings related to paper trays or sizes.
Firmware Update: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve issues like this.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
