HP ENVY 7164
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Despite the site's insisting I don't own an HP ENVY 7164, I actually do own this printer, maybe it's two or three months old. I replaced the black cartridge and immediately got the message "The indicated cartridges are not communicating with the printer." Checked on this site to determine a solution. I tried every single possible solution suggested by HP tech reps: reset the printer by unplugging, downloaded firmware, cleaned the cartridges and the interior contacts, plugged directly into a wall. . I have been able to print  in all  red, so it's clearly the brand-new black cartridge. Now what do I do? When alllllll solutions fail, what is the next step? Meanwhile I am left without the ability to print. Please help. Thank you.

Is this an actual HP cartridge or 3rd party?

Thank you for your response. This cartridge was delivered via HP in the "Instant Ink" program. So it is a genuine HP cartridge, it has the HP logo, and displays 64/303. This printer's original equipment was a #64 black cartridge. Since the printer works ok with the color cartridge, I am under the assumption it would mean the cartridge itself needs to be replaced. Yes? Would you be able to suggest a next step for me?  TY!
