I have a Mac (High Sierra) with a HP Photosmart 6510 printer. Until today I have always used genuine HP ink cartridges. Unfortunately our local store had none in stock and I needed to print. I have therefore installed cartridges from Tesco supermarket which should be compatible HP 364 cartridges. I installed the red, the blue and the yellow cartridges. The black I had did not need replacing and was a genuine HP ink cartridge. I tried the Tesco black also. The error message on the printer says to replace the red and the yellow cartridges only. I have updated all firmware.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand that you are not able to print due to ink cartridge errors. I'd be happy to assist you.
HP does not recommend using non-HP ink cartridges. It may or may not work. It may also damage the print mechanism in the printer.
Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document to resolve this issue.
