Hi @Deter_59-BY

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how frustrating it feels when the print job appears to spool successfully from InDesign, shows up in the printer queue, and then disappears without producing a page.

Let’s go through some structured steps to resolve this so you can get your documents printed smoothly.

Step 1: Verify Printer Status

  1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right‑click your printer and select See what’s printing.
  3. Confirm the printer is set as Default and that it shows Ready (not paused or offline).

Step 2: Clear the Print Queue

  1. In the print queue window, cancel all pending jobs.
  2. Restart the printer and computer.
  3. Try sending a new job from InDesign.

Step 3: Check Printer Driver

  1. Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page:
    HP Software and Driver Downloads
  2. Enter your printer model.
  3. Download and install the latest Printer driver for Windows.
  4. Restart the computer after installation.

Step 4: Print from Another Application

  1. Open a simple document in Word or Notepad.
  2. Send it to the printer.
    • If it prints, the issue is specific to InDesign.
    • If it does not print, the driver or connection needs attention.

Step 5: Check InDesign Print Settings

  1. In InDesign, go to File > Print.
  2. Ensure the correct printer is selected.
  3. Under Setup, confirm the paper size and type match what is loaded in the printer.
  4. Try printing a single page to test.

Step 6: Run Diagnose & Fix in HP App

  1. Open the HP App from the Start menu.
  2. Select your printer.
  3. Go to Support > Diagnose & Fix.
  4. Follow the on‑screen instructions to resolve communication or driver issues.

Once these steps are completed, the print job should remain in the queue until it is processed, and you’ll hear the reassuring sound of the printer starting up.
