I have a general printer error and when I power up there is a loud grinding noise. I have checked the cartridges and printhead and these seem to be ok. Please help!

Thank you for joining HP Forums.
It's a pleasure assisting you in finding answers to your technical queries.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Any hardware changes made in the printer?
Remove the cartridges and reseat the cartridges.
I suggest you do a Hard Reset
(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Update the firmware for the printer using this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-7000-wide-format-printer-series-e809/3882903/model...
Restart the printer.
Clean the rollers and check for jam paper in the printer.
Dirt and grime buildup on the rollers can contribute to this issue. Use the following steps to clean the rollers inside the product.

Turn off the product, and then disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
-
Push the left side of the rear access panel to the right, and then pull the panel towards you to remove it.
Figure : Open the rear access panel
-
If there is any paper visible, gently pull the paper out of the rollers.
-
Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with purified or distilled water.
Figure : Clean the rollers
-
Reattach, and then close the rear access panel.
-
Reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
-
Press the Power button (
) to turn on the product.
-
Try the print job again.
