Hello to everyone.

The last month when I try to scan from ADF the scan stop usually at second page and I get the message. "Document Feeder Issue. Make sure your document is within the specs of the document feeder seated on the tray. If the problem persists visit HP support". I scan with Hp smart and I feed A4 paper. Before the ADF scan worked ok. Any suggestions;

Hello there @noikono

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

It seems like the ADF is not recognizing the paper while scanning. Let us try to resolve this issue by following these steps:

Try making multiple copies on the printer and check if the issue persists, By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or an application issue.

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Update the printer firmware

I followed your recommendations. Reset the printer, check the firmware (It was OK), Clean the ADF rollers. I put a single A4 page into the ADF feeder and tried to copy the page. The page passes OK through the ADF system but after it passes I continue to hear the sound of the ADF working and finally I get the message "Reload original in the ADF feeder and try again" and I get as a copy from the printer a blank page. I use the same setup to try and scan the page, the page passes OK through the ADF, no scan resoled  and I get the message in the PC "A scanner ADF misfeed occurred. Reload the page to scan into the ADF and try again"

Any suggestions; Is it a hardware or a software issue. Can I check something inside the ADF system for you. Electronics is one of my hobby's so I have I certain amour of confidence opening a machine. If it is a software issue what can I do. The printer is connected to the PC with Ethernet cable.

Thanks in advanced for your time and stay safe.
