Black ink needed replaced, replaced it with a 61XL cartridge, will not accept it. Keeps telling me to replace. Bought a second cartridge same issue. It will let me pull out the color cartridge and print in single cartridge mode with black only. 

I am using HP Ink purchased from Office Depot. Only change from prior ink is that I went ahead and purchased the 61XL ink instead of 61 black ink.  Was working with no issues prior to changing ink with both color and black. Realized I was having issue after tossing the old black 61 cartridge. I have tried to clean everything and followed all reset instructions in the help section from HP.  How can printer work with black only, but not work when both cartridges are installed?

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. If you have already performed the steps from the document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure. Please reach out to HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
