My printer will not print and copy 4x6 glossy photo paper. I get the following prompt on the printer screen: “Make sure paper is loaded and is below the paper stack tab or line shown on the tray.”  It is able to print plain 8x11 paper. When the cartridge is empty and it’s set to size 8x11 paper I get “Load Paper in Tray” prompt. The 4x6 photo paper model is HP CR666A.  If the problem

is due to the model of the paper then what type of photo paper should I be using on this printer?

Hi,

Are you loading the paper properly?
The paper should be loaded with the glossy side faced down, as instructed below:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05076941

Also, make sure to change the paper settings when loading the paper, follow the prompt on screen to change the paper size to 6 x 4 or 10 x 15 , then change the Paper Type to Photo Paper or Speciality Paper - Glossy.

Finally, be sure to change the paper settings on the computer too, from the software open the print dialog and click on Properties or Preferences, change the Paper type and size there too.

May that helps?

Yes, that helped. I am using my phone to print the photos and so I didn’t know to change the printer tray settings in the hp app. Thanks for the help!
