Hi @Lillysmom1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

Yes, the HP OfficeJet 3830 is compatible with various types of photo paper, including some specific brands and types designed for photo printing.

However, when using specialty photo paper like Koala photo paper, it's essential to check the paper specifications to ensure it is compatible with your printer.

Here are a few things to consider:

Paper Type and Size: Check if the Koala photo paper is within the supported paper size range for your HP OfficeJet 3830. The printer might not be able to handle certain sizes or types of photo paper.

Paper Thickness: Some photo papers, especially those designed for high-quality photo printing, can be thicker than standard paper. Ensure that the paper thickness falls within the supported range for your printer.

Printer Settings: Adjust the printer settings to match the paper type you are using. Set the paper type in the printer's settings menu to "Photo Paper" or the specific paper type recommended by the manufacturer of the Koala paper.

Paper Loading: Make sure you're loading the Koala photo paper properly into the paper tray or the photo paper feeder, following the printer's guidelines for paper loading.

Printer Compatibility: While many types of photo paper work well with inkjet printers like the OfficeJet 3830, compatibility can vary. Some specialty papers may not provide optimal results due to differences in coating, ink absorption, or other factors.

If the printer is not recognizing or printing properly on the Koala photo paper, try printing on regular paper to ensure the printer is functioning correctly. If the printer works with regular paper but not with the Koala photo paper, it might indicate an incompatibility issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
