My printer, Office Jet 6500 plus E710-n may have had a power failure (while I was out). Since then the message readout on the printer says there has been an improper shutdown and refer to documentation 0-610000f6. I cannot clear the message and use the printer. I installed new cartridges after this message. I tried to reset the printer by the unplug/plugin procedure but it makes no difference.

There is no paper jam. I cleaned the printer head. The ink carriage moves manually back and forth easily, BUT when I open up the top of the printer, the ink and printer head remains at the right hand side.

I have looked everywhere for help and am desperate to use my printer.
