My printer worked fine until I replaced all of the cartridges today.  Now I cannot print anything in black, and even the new colors print a very ligh test page.  I have reinstalled the software several times, cleaned the the print heads, etc. numberous times to no avail.  I am totally frustrated and cannot print forms to file my tax returns.  My printer is the OfficeJet 6962 and was purchased less than a year ago.  I am about ready to bash it with a hammer, and throw it in the trash and buy a laser printer from Cannon, Xerox or any other competitor, anyone but HP.  I have wasted several dollars and too many work hours for this to continue.  My previous $39 inkjet printer lasted more than ten years, and I gave it away to a friend, who is still using it !

Your solution was tried several times yesterday, and did not fix the issues.  So your solution is bogus and a wasted effort.  But thanks anyway.

@Tedxxx,

If the steps I shared didn't do the trick, it would confirm a hardware malfunction and you may want to contact support to have the device repaired.

Here is how you can get in touch with tech support.

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Cheers!
