The Lunacy in HP even selling this printer anymore escapes all logic! I too thought, "WOW! I can print scalable condocs from my brand new HP 7610!" I am good friends with a retired HP executive and after months of screaming and burning ink begged him to help. The only solution is to use a MAC with this printer. Windows will not recognize 12 x 18 for this printer. So, I save a pdf, send it to myself via an email, open it on my MacBook Pro and print a custom 12x18 sheet. Archiac at best, and this printer drinks ink like it pouring out of the back. I rarely if ever print in color. All black ink printing here! However, every month or so I am remarkably out of a color cartridge. Where doe s it go HP? They say that the printer uses nominal amount of ink durin its start up and prior to printing.

WORST PRINTER EVER MADE I AM GOING BACK TO DRAFTING BY HAND ON VELLUM WITH JEWELED TIP PENS! I STILL HAVE MINE, DO YOU?

This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you want to do custom size printing from your Windows PC on HP OfficeJet 7610 printer. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

Create the new custom paper size.

  1. Search Windows for devices, and then click Devices and Printers in the list of results.

  2. Click the icon for your printer, and then click Print server properties.

Figure : Location of Print server properties

  3. If the User Account Control window displays, click Continue.

  4. On the Forms tab, select the Create a new form check box, and then type a name for the new paper size in Form name.

  5. Select Metric or English, and then type the dimensions of your custom paper in the Width and Height text boxes.

  6. Click Save Form, and then click OK or Close.

Select the new custom paper size while printing.

  1. Load the custom-size paper into the paper input tray.

  2. Open the item you want to print.

  3. Click File, and then click Print.

  4. In the Print window, click Preferences, Properties, or Printer Properties.

  5. Click the Paper/Quality tab.

    • If Paper Size displays, select the new custom paper size in the Paper Size drop-down menu.

    • If Paper Size does not display, click Advanced, and then select the new custom paper size in the Paper Size drop-down menu.

  6. Click OK to close the Properties dialog box, and then click OK or Print to print the document.

Click here and refer the document to perform the above steps.

Change the print quality to draft mode,

This option uses less amount of ink while printing.

  1. In the program you are trying to print from, click File, and then click Print.

    The Print window opens.

  2. Open the Properties dialog box.

Depending on the software program, the button might be Properties, Options, Printer Setup, Printer, or Preferences.

  3. Under print quality, select Draft mode.

Let me know if that works.

Cheers.

I appreciate your response. Unfortunately, I have tried everything.  When iget to the step below I do not have a Paper/Size drop down option with in advanced settings. So, I can not select the custom paper size that I created.

If Paper Size does not display, click Advanced, and then select the new custom paper size in the Paper Size drop-down menu.

@callmeberty

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand you need information on using custom paper sizes,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Are you using windows or Mac OS?

While you respond to that, here's all you need to know about custom paper size:

You can print to non-standard paper sizes with many types of HP home and small office printers. Print to any size paper within the minimum and maximum printing dimensions your printer supports.

   CAUTION:

To avoid print quality problems and other issues, make sure your custom size does not exceed the actual size of your paper.

  • Create custom paper sizes in Windows
  • Create custom paper sizes on a Mac

(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)

I hope this helps!

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
