Hi -
My OfficeJet 8600 printer only prints blank pages.
I have followed ALL advises given by HP Support and found in the support blogs, i.e. changed the printhead, inserted new HP cartridges, checked the driver version.
Still, the printer only prints out blank pages.
Any advise??
Thank you in advance.

Hi @einstein49,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've already tried the basic troubleshooting steps like changing the printhead, inserting new cartridges, and checking the driver version, and you're still experiencing the issue of your HP Officejet 8600 printer printing blank pages, there are a few additional steps you can try.
- Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink levels. Sometimes, even new cartridges can be defective or incorrectly installed.
- Clean Printheads Manually: Even though you've replaced the printhead, it's possible that there might still be some residual blockages. Try cleaning the printheads manually following the printer's manual or HP's instructions for manual cleaning.
- Run Printer Diagnostic Tests: Many printers, including HP models, have built-in diagnostic tests that can help identify and resolve printing issues. Check your printer's manual for instructions on how to run diagnostic tests.
- Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates include fixes for printing issues.
- Try Different Paper: Occasionally, certain types or brands of paper can cause printing problems. Try using a different type or brand of paper to see if that resolves the issue.
- Reset Printer: Perform a reset of your printer to its factory settings. This can sometimes resolve persistent issues.
- Check for Physical Damage: Inspect the printer for any signs of physical damage that may be causing the issue. This could include loose connections, damaged components, or foreign objects obstructing the printing mechanism.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you very much, Alden4!
I have executed all of your proposed actions - except firmware update - and there's still only blank pages being "printed".
The built-in diagnostics don't identify any problem, "printhead health is good"; the different levels of printhead cleaning don't improve the situation, etc.
How can I check/ update the printer's firmware?
Honestly, I am quite exhausted, after having invested approx. 300 USD and tens of hours, without result. I tend to believe that we are dealing here with the phenomenon of "built-in obsolescence".....
Hoping I am wrong and you can assist me in getting my HP printer working fine again, best regards, Einstein49.
