I’ve just replaced my generic ink and I’m getting a compatibility error message “ One or more tanks is missing etc.” Tanks are full and compatible so what is going on HP? What happened to the Bypass option that was previously added due to HP failed attempted and subsequent Class action Lawsuit for locking out consumers from “Fair use” of their purchased product? I have sneaking suspicion that HP is has done it again with another Firmware update which once again is responsible for blocking me and millions of other from using Generic inks? Could someone confirm this what has happened again? What firmware update did HP sneak this into specifically? Has anyone found a work around for this problem or has my printer been locked out permanently?

@pfgray, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
