Hi,
just got new OfficeJet pro 7730 printer and now I should print C4 envelope. But it don't work!
I put the envelope to tray 1 and chose custom paper size. In Adobe Indesign or adobe Acrobat software I chose paper size C4, which I have defined by myself. And settings for Printer -> Paper handling -> destination paper size: C4. But when I start printing the printer says that detected paper size does not match paper size selected.
What I'm doing wrong?
And why C4-envelope is not as default on printers paper size list? Can I somehow add C4 envelope size to default list?

You might not be doing anything wrong --- and I don't speak Mac.
I can offer "what happened to me" recently when trying to print an envelope for which I had to create the custom form size using Word. Maybe it will help...
Setup
- Windows 10 Pro v1809
- HP Officejet Pro 8740 - Full Feature Software installed
- Microsoft Office Home and Business 2016
- Custom Paper Size form created for envelope "9x6"
HP Document:
HP Printers - Creating Custom Paper Sizes
Goal
- Print a 6x9 inch envelope using Word > Mailings > Envelopes
Looking at the package of envelopes
- The package of envelopes states the envelope is "6x9 inches"
- The envelopes are packed in a light cellophane wrapping with the package writing left to right on the "short side" up format
- The envelops are packed with the "sealing flap" open
The problem
- The envelope plus the flap is actually longer than the stated nine inches (long side).
- Simple "custom form" setup is not working
Did not work
- Changing the custom size dimensions to include the "flap" bit did not work.
- Changing the custom size option size to 9x6 inches (rotated 90 degrees) did not work.
- It appeared (at least after trying several options) that the "flap" dimensions could not be added to the size nor could the flap dimension be ignored.
Works
- Use a bit of removable tape to temporarily seal the flap to the envelope
- In Word, Create the Custom Size envelope at 9x6 inches
- Load the envelope into the printer short sides front and back to the printer, flap "up" (can see the flap when the envelope is laying in the tray), and flap at the top (toward the back of the printer)
- Change the "Feed" in Options to "find" the envelope in the middle of the tray, flap on the side (left or right)
