I just took my all in one out of the box and it's a great printer. I'm used to a laserjet and this is an inkjet, but it's for my home use so that's okay. One of the features I needed the most was to copy either through the ADF or on the flatbed. I tried both and it had the same outcome: It said it could not pull the original. I can't remember the exact error and I will get that when I get home today.
It prints great from mobile devices - no problem. I have not yet tried printing from my PC and have not installed the software. However, it shouldn't matter if i put a document in the ADF and/or on the scanner bed just to make a copy should it? It pulled the original through the ADF just fine. When I put a document on the bed it did exactly the same thing. I looked and watched and I didn't see the scanner bar (don't know what it's called) move at all.

I would like to clarify the problem. The printer prints just fine. I place a document in the ADF and it feeds it through just fine. It goes through the motions like it's copying. Then it spits out a blank sheet of paper and the message on the screen (see below) shows. It does exactly the same thing even if I place a document on the bed to be copied.
Again - it goes through the motions like it is supposed to. I can send something to print via my mobile phone and it prints just fine! However, I have the problem above when I put something through the ADF or on the bed. It pulls the paper through the ADF and goes through the motion of copying it and puts the original underneath when
finished.

Hi,
Thanks for the additional clarification.
Quick question : are you able to scan, i.e. using the HP Scan software to scan anything on the flatbed or ADF. Does the image comes out through the scan? Just to be sure that the scanner is working.
What paper size is placed in the tray 1 and tray? Was the trays configured properly with the paper size?
Thanks.

Okay - I tried scanning both on the flat bed and through the ADF. I get the same error as before on the printer and this message on the PC. The paper feeds through correctly on the ADF. The printer is not jammed. At this point I'm about ready to put this back in the box and return it. I'm very disappointed.
