OfficeJet Pro 7740
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We have HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 printer (G5J38A)

Our setup cyan ink cartridge has run-out so we bought another set of 955XL. We replaced the setup cyan ink cartridge (952, N9H70A) with the 955XL cyan (L0S63AA)  but printer said it's incompatible.

Checking the web for compatible printer, the 955XL includes the 7740 printer.

Is there a way to know what is wrong or what is the solution to solve this problem? Thank you.

Hi,

From your notes, your printer was provided with HP 952 ink cartridges?

The HP 952 cartridges are intended for your printer in the United States and Canada, the HP 955 ink cartridges are intended for the same model in Asia Pacific and Japan:

https://support.hp.com/my-en/document/c01766411

What country are you from?

What country did you purchase the printer from?

To switch from one region to another if you moved you must replace all 4 cartridges and contact HP to reset the printer for the current region, the printer cannot use both 952 and 955 at the same time...

Please clarify my questions to get a better understanding..

Hello. Thank you for considering my question.

I am from Guam.

I think you are right. It need region reset in order to use the 955XL cartridge I currently have now.

Any link where to get assistance in reseting my printer's region?

Thank you in advance.

Hi GH8. I will reference those cartridge number for next time. Currently, I have new set of 955XL. And, I think, the best solution for now is to region reset the printer so I won't waste the 955XL I have in hand. One of them I have open already.

Thank you for your reply.

If you are in NA (America), you can only use HP 952XL.

Not sure how you got the 955XL, they are for Asia.

Not sure if you can return them from the place you purchased and replace them with  HP952XL.
