HP OfficeJet Pro 8024 All-in-One Printer

Hello,

My HP OfficeJet Pro 8024 is showing a Blue Screen of Death with a Power Icon and the following code: 04358a98

I've tried several solutions already. I've unplugged it, waited a couple of minutes, taken out the cartridges, plugged it back in, inserted cartridges. I've also connected it via ethernet, thinking it might be a wireless connection problem. All to no avail. The blue screen with the error code keeps popping up near immediately.

I've been at it for over an hour now, plugging, unplugging, connected, disconnected, with cartridges, without cartridges. All in different combinations, hoping one might do it. But nothing. Absolutely nothing. I've even tried keeping the front flap open, thinking any thing might push it into a reset or forced start mode.

How can this be fixed?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Reset the printer:

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

  • Check for any jams inside the printer. Make sure the print carriage is moving freely.
  • Refer to the steps from this document.
