My OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910 now goes into aligning printheads after every restart. The alignment process takes about 7-10 minutes and then fails. This happened after installed new ink cartridges, which are now depleted (c,m and y inks) thanks to the constant, automatic, seemingly unstoppable alignment procedure.
Is there a way to prevent this automatic alignment?

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community.
I reviewed the case regarding issues with the printer. I will be delighted to assist you here.
Follow this document https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-8500a-e-all-in-one-printer-series-a910/4083864... and perform the steps 2 to 5.
Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. 😉

Hi Barachiel,
Thanks for the reply. I found on YouTube how to bypass the auto print head alignment after restarts, which is what I was really looking for (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf93QdZgmzI).
The printer is multi-functional so I use it for other things than printing. Waiting 10 minutes for a printhead alignment to fail when my goal is not to print but use the fax or scan to network is preposterous. If I ever decide to get the printing capability working again, I'll try your recommendation. However, even after fixing the printhead issue, I will continue to keep auto printhead alignment disabled to avoid the printer forcing this upon me, wasting all of newly purchased ink cartridges if new (or successfully cleaned) printheads begin to fail again.
Regards,
C'mon, Really?!
