OfficeJet Pro 8715
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently purchased the OfficeJet Pro 8715 printer from Costco.  I have left over print cartidges from an earlier model of this same printer.  Can you use the 951XL cartridges in the OfficeJet Pro 8715 printer?  The OfficeJet Pro 8715 calls for 952XL cartridges.

Thank you.

Thank you for responding.  When I checked HP's website, I noticed that in other instances cartridges that were manufactured for printers that were no longer in production could be used with the updated printer model.  I wondered if HP would be updating the cartridge information for this printer to include what appears to be identical cartidges from the previous model.  It is such a waste of resources, let alone money.  If the cartridges are not interchangeable, an explanation would be helpful to the consumer.

They maybe look the same, but you can't even fit 951xl cartridge in OJ 8715, there is no update that can help you.
