HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

My printer is connected to the wifi and I printed something yesterday but now it will not print. It keeps "looking for printer" and is showing offline on my Mac but on the printer and the HP app, it shows connected.

Hi @swdavis,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 is connected but shows as "offline" and won't print, there are several steps you can take to resolve the issue. Here's a comprehensive guide to troubleshooting and fixing the problem:

1. Check Printer Status and Connection:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button. Unplug it from the power source for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it o
  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. The wireless indicator light on the printer should be on or blinking, indicating a connection.
  • Print a network configuration page from the printer's control panel to check its IP address and connection status. This can usually be found in the printer's network settings or setup menu.

2. Check Computer Settings

  • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers (or Printers & Scanners on Windows 10/11). Right-click your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 and select Set as default printer.

Restart Print Spooler Service (Windows):

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Find and select Print Spooler from the list of services.
  • Click Restart to restart the print spooler service.

3. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Go to the HP website and search for drivers specific to your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010. Download and install the latest drivers for your operating system.
  • Remove the Printer: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010, and select Remove device.
  • Reinstall the Printer: Re-add the printer by clicking Add a printer in the same menu. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver and set up the printer again.

4. Check Network Configuration

  • Ensure that the IP address of the printer is correct and matches what is configured in your computer’s printer settings.:
  • Open Command Prompt and type ping [printer IP address] (replace [printer IP address] with the actual IP address of your printer). Press Enter. If you receive replies, the printer is connected to the network; otherwise, there may be a network issue.
  • Ensure that your router is not blocking the printer and that it is on the same network as your computer.

5. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Go to the HP Print and Scan Doctor website and download the tool.
  • Run the tool and follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix printing issues.

6. Check for Printer Firmware Updates

  • Go to the HP Support website and check if there is a firmware update available for your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010. Follow the instructions to download and install the update.

7. Reset Network Settings on Printer

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
