Welcome to HP forums, I see that your printer is stuck in MFG mode.
Perform a power reset
- Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 30 seconds.
- Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector and printer.
- Turn on the printer.
Update the printer firmware

Thank you very much for the advice, Sandytech20. There seemed to be one step missing between Steps 5 and 6. I presume that one should plug the power cable to the printer after Step 5, i.e. before Step 6 to turn on the printer.
Anyway, I am glad to say that it has fixed the problem. If you don't mind me saying so, however, speaking as a professional engineer of long standing, this solution does not sound professional. I hope that HP will work diligently to find a more scientifically-based solution.
