Hello everybody,
My cartridges are not aligned and refuse to be aligned. Either of the cartridges print fine on their own, but as soon as they're used in tandem I get a drop-shadow effect on every page, as the cartridges are being applied half a millimeter from each other.
The alignment function, whether it be from the printer or the software on the PC, does absolutely nothing except give me a sarcastic "Alignment Complete!" message. How is this possible? The alignment page clearly shows the problem. The printer scans it and then makes a bunch of sounds as if it's making adjustments, but it's actually doing nothing at all.
Rest assured, I have wasted countless milliliters of ink and time going through every possible solution under the sun, from replacing both of the cartridges (from different retailers) to wiping all traces of the printer off my computer and doing a fresh install from a factory reset, etc. For this reason I ask to please not offer any of the standard, basic and obvious "solutions" to save both my time and yours. I've tried them all, they're useless.
Yet the problem remains, and it's consistent. Apart from this the printer works great. I do not need another printer. My problem is half a millimeter. Either this is a mechanical problem or it has something to do with parameters regarding the positions of the print heads. I am prepared to tackle both.
I appreciate any help you can give me,
Thank you.
