Finally i found solution to the problem...I have to give administrator rights on the external programs such as microsoft office, acrobat reader etc...Under properties, compatibility tab you have to select run this program as an administrator. After that close the program and open again the file you want to print and that's it.That's the solution for sure for windows 10.
Somehow i have to give administrator rights automatically to all the apps...My user is the administrator but who knows whats the problem. By the way windows 7 works just fine with printer.
Thank you for your time! If you have a solution to give administrator rights to external apps please feel free to reply back.

Hi @tem1990,
Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums for a solution to your printing issue.
I understand that you are able to print from Notepad on your Windows 10 computer from an HP Officejet 5740 e-All-in-One Printer but unable to print from any other program. I would like to help with that.
This definitely seems like a software issue seeing how you have tested printer functionality by doing a scan, fax, and copy.
I would start by getting the printer connected the way you prefer to have it connected.
Next I would download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This tool can diagnose and fix many printing and printer software issues.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.
In fact, if this helps you to reach a solution please click the "Accept as Solution", and the "thumbs up" buttons down below in this message. 🙂
Thanks!

Hi @tem1990,
I can support these printer's on Windows and Macintosh only.
I do not have any support resources for the Ubuntu Linux-based operating system. For support while using Ubuntu I suggest visiting this website - HP Linux Imaging and Printing.
If the test page does not print from Windows after running the HP Print and Scan Doctor the next step would be to uninstall all printer related software from Windows, then reinstall the printer's software and drivers. Here is a support document that can be used for reference when uninstalling if needed - Uninstalling the Printer Software (Windows).
Next, I would try using the HP Printer Install Wizard for the installation. This tool will find the most recent version of the printer's software for Windows 10 and help with the installation.

Hi @tem1990,
Glad to hear that you were able to get around the printing issue.
I am unable to provide support for anything outside of the HP model printer scope of support on this forum. Giving administrator rights to external apps may be an inquiry better suited for the Microsoft Community Forums.
Please click the "Accept as Solution", and the "thumbs up" buttons up on my initial reply above so others with similar issues can find the solution easier.
Thanks!
