Product: Officejet 6700 Premium
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Officejet 6700 Premium model H711n that has the error message "the print carriage cannot move". It is not allowing me access to any features or commands but remains in this error mode. Upon startup the carriage does move the full motion from let to right then slams hard on the right and gives this error. I have replaced the printhead as well as the print cartridges but this error persists. I have gone through the hard reboot procedure but it still has this error. The carriage does move freely from left to right when moves manually.  Thanks for any help you may have.

There is a thin plastic strip going from left side to right side of the printer just above the main rod, damp a cloth with warm water and clean that strip by pressing it with 2 fingers between damped cloth and clean it from left to right as much as you can. Don't push or pull to avoid breaking the strip.
