Hello!

I bought an officejet 6950 printer with its original 903 cartridges (one black and three colored ones,NOT XL versions). So far  I only use black to print my files so it runs outs quickly. I am thinking of buying a new original 903XL black cartridge but I am not sure if it will be compatible with the color cartridges which are not XL. So if I buy the 903XL black cartridge I should also buy the colored ones in XL version?

 

I am only asking because in my previous old HP Printer the XL black ink would only work with XL color cartridges although both where original!

Yes, you will able to use a black XL ink cartridge with normal color cartridges.
