Hi
I have an Officejet 7612 which has performed brilliantly in the past. Since changing ISP from Plusnet to TalkTalk, with the new TalkTalk router, the printer will not always reconnect to the Wi-Fi.
The problem seems to be the printer sometimes has an IP address 192.etc.etc which is the one that works, but a lot of times the IP address on start-up is 169.etc.etc which is termed a 'holding IP address', and naturally does not connect to the Windows PC.
I checked all I can but I cannot figure out why the IP address swaps around. It was fine with the previous router.
The printer and route firmware is up to date. I was initially looking into router problems, but then thought to ask you guys as it does seem a printer issue.
The only way I can fix it and use my printer at the moment is to reconnect to the Wi-Fi network.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Andrew

Greetings!
Welcome to the HP Support Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, there seems to be an issue with the connectivity.
Appreciate you trying the steps. Don't worry, I'm here to help!
Let's try these steps -
Step 1 Network Restore -
On the printer control panel, touch (Wireless), and then touch Settings. Touch Restore Network Defaults, and then touch Yes. A message appears stating that the network defaults have been restored.
Step 2 Reboot the devices -
1) Turn off the Router, Printer, and the computer.
2) Wait for 60 seconds.
3) Turn on the Router first and wait for all the lights to stabilize.
4) Turn on the printer and allow it to configure itself.
5) Turn on the computer.
Step 3 Run Wireless Wizard -
1) Set up the printer hardware. See the getting started guide or the setup poster that came with your printer.
2) On the printer control panel, touch (Wireless), and then touch Settings.
3) Touch Wireless Setup Wizard, and then touch Continue.
4) Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.
Also, try assigning a Static IP to the printer.
Step 4 Assign a Static IP -
1) Print a Network configuration page from the printer's control panel.
2) Look for IP address from the Network configuration page.
3) Open web browser - Chrome or IE or any other browser that you are using.
4) Type the IP address mentioned on Network configuration page into the browser's address bar or URL bar and press enter button.
5) Go to the Network tab.
6) Click on Networking from the left pane.
7) Then click on Network Address (IP).
8) Click on Manual IP Address and go to suggest a Manual IP.
9) Scroll down the screen and select Manual DNS server.
10) Enter the Primary and secondary DNS server from the Network Configuration page into the Manual Preferred DNS server field.
11) Click on Apply.
Refer to the video link for step by step instructions.
Note : The video is for win 8 but steps are similar for other operating systems as well. You need to enter the IP address in the browser's URL or the address bar to access the printer page.
Hope this helps!
