HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

Printer turns on, screen is blank (no logo or anything), only the icons around the screen are lit. Doesn't make the typical start-up noises either.

Doesn't detect via USB or Wi-Fi.

HP Print utility doesn't help - can't detect the printer.

 

Tried unplugging it (overnight even) - no results.

Tried holding down the power button in vain hope of some sort of reset process - no results.

 

It was working fine until yesterday, and just quit.

 

Is there any hope for this thing? Is there some kind of hidden reset process I could try?

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

 

I see that you are facing an issue with your printer that is not loading.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

 

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

 

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

I have the same issue with my officejet pro 7740.

The icons are lit on the side of the screen but the main screen is black. I tried all the unplugging solutions but nothing really worked.
