HP officejet Pro 6830 Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have not been able to connect to my HP Officejet Pro 6830 printer, either wireless, Ethernet or USB cable for about a week.  I had been able to print earlier without any problem.  I downloaded and installed printer drivers from HP website, and as it went throught the printer installation process, the printer was identified on my home network but could not connect through any of the options, wireless, Ethernet or USB.

Has anyone experienced this problem, and how to resolve it?

Thanks.

@Nii16, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • Do you have any Anti-virus software installed on your PC?
  • How far is the printer located from the WiFi router?
  • Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network.
  • This printer supports only 2.4GHz network.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Check the connectivity between the printer and the PC

  1. Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
  2. Type the IP address at the top of your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
  3. If you get any security notification, click on show details/advanced and 'proceed to this website'.
  4. Try printing a test page.

Let me know how this goes.
