I have an A4 PDF letterhead that I use for my business. Its design extends right to the borders of the page. With my old Epson A3 printer, when I wanted to print the letterhedd, I would select 'borderless' in the properties dialog box and then select 'Actual size' in the Print dialog box. The resulting print would then be an exact replica of the PDF.

However, when I select the same settings with my new HP Officejet Pro 7740, the resulting print looks like it has been pushed up the page by about 15mm. This means my logo at the top is cropped and the details at the bottom are higher up the page than they should be. The sides are fine and print right up to the edge as expected.

I have tried every combination to rectify this but to no avail. What am I missing here? It seems like there is some immaginary margin at the bottom of the page.

After much googling, I appear to have stumbled on the solution to get borderless output from a PDF.

In Acrobat, click on 'Print'. In the resulting dialog box, click on the 'Advanced' button and then put a check next to 'Print As Image'.

The A4 PDF now prints as it should. Why on earth one has to select 'Print As Image' to get the borderless function to work within Acrobat is a mystery. Never had to do it with the Epson. Oh well, at least I can stop pulling my hair out.
