All color cartridges are good, Printheads were cleaned, all maintenance procedures were run. Cyan is completely missing from test prints. When printing from word processor,  all print appears as a pale red - NO Black or other colors. Test prints are perfect,  but lack the CYAN color block. HELP!!!???

Hi! @Jim_Ch

Does the issue persist when you make a copy from your printer?

Have you tried printing from a different application?

Have you tried printing using a different ink cartridge?

Are you using HP genuine ink cartridges?

Replace low, empty or faulty ink cartridges on the printer.

Try cleaning the printheads with ethanol and check if it helps.

Try the steps recommended below.

Use an automated tool to clean the printheads

Use an automated tool to clean and unclog the printheads.

   CAUTION:

Never turn off the printer when ink cartridges are not installed. To avoid issues that require cleaning the printhead or that can damage the ink system, always replace ink cartridges as soon as possible, and always turn off the printer using the Power button.

  1. Load plain white paper into the tray.

  2. Press the Power button to turn on the printer, if it is not already on.

  3. On the control panel, touch the right arrow  to display the second navigation screen.

  4. Touch Setup, and then touch Tools.

  5. Touch Clean Printheads.

    The printer cleans the printheads.

  6. Wait while the printer completes the printhead cleaning process, and then touch OK. You might have to clean the printheads more than once for the best print quality.

Try to print.

The Print Quality Diagnostic Page was perfect for the BLK/YEL Print Head, But No CYAN color and the GREEN Block is YELLOW.

Orig. HP ink cartridges always used.

Removed both Print Heads and cleaned with isopropyl Alcohol

Removed Ink cartridges and reinserted.

Now, When printer is powered on, “Print Alignment” fails and and still no change in Print Quality.

Printer is only 5 years old and both print heads were replaced in 2016.

After following these procedures and cleaning the print heads, I kept getting an "Alignment Failed" Error Message. I found instructions to "bypass pen alignment" and ran the Print Quality Diagnostic Report which showed NO further problems. The printer is working once again!
