8600plus running on Mac OS using EasyScan

ADF makes three sharp noises when scanning is initiated, then error message pops up about document loading.  Documents are loaded just fine.

Have tried reset, cleaning, etc. multiple occasions.

I have also done a single sheet scan from the flatbed, successfully.  

AND occasionally am THEN ABLE to load multiple sheets in the ADF and scan to the computer successfully.

the lack of consistently correct behavior from the ADF is maddening.

Most of the automatic document feeder mispick can be resolve by power resetting the printer and cleaning the ADF rollers. Instructions on how to resolve Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) Does Not Pick Paper can be found here. If you have already tried those steps then, I'm afraid, its a possible hardware failure and you may call your regional HP Support to obtain service/replacement options. You may use the following steps to contact your regional HP Support:

1) Click on this link.

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device. 

4) Select the country from the drop-down. 

5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences. 

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.
