Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I am trying to print a black and white text document, I have gone in and selected print bw and gone into advanced and changed to print black only in draft mode, and yet every time I print it gives me the error cant print cause my yellow is depleted. I need to print and do not wish to buy color ink just to print bw.

@cinimodaz, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I see that you are trying to print in black, but not able to do so as the yellow ink cartridge is empty. Yes, this is expected behavior of this model printer. As per design.

This printer uses 4 ink cartridges and to print none of the ink cartridges should be empty as it uses all 4 colors to even print just in black to balance the use of ink cartridges.

Kindly replace the empty ink cartridge to resolve this issue. You may purchase replacement cartridges and other supplies from the HP Store or local retailers.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
